Care Plan Evaluation

Protect yourself, protect your family, and have peace of mind in the event of a crisis.

Baby-Boomers are often referred to as the sandwich- generation. They are responsible for bringing up their own children and for the care of an aging parent. They often learn first-hand of the care available in their community for the elderly and the costs associated with these services.

Research tells us that caregiving of a family member is a “complicated and overwhelming task”. What do you do if care is required, hour after hour, day after day, year after year?

Do I need a Care Plan?

Not everyone will want, or need long term care insurance. But everyone should have a Care Plan. Protect yourself, protect your family, and have peace of mind in the event of a crisis. As Baby-Boomers age, there will be more demand placed on health services and care facilities, and the costs are more likely to increase over time.

Current cost of care in Ontario:
  • For a private non-subsidized retirement home, it can cost between $40,000 and $70,000 per year. The National median is $193 per day.
  • For home care the cost for private nursing is $50- $60/hour and for personal support worker is approximately $20--$30/hour (cooking, cleaning, shopping, daily living etc.)
  • The demand and cost of Long Term Care will continue to rise as the 10 million Canadian Boomers move towards their senior years.
  • There are 2.3 million Canadians 65 and over living in Ontario - that number is estimated to grow to 4.6 million by the year 2041.
